The Little Half Acre is a touring and teaching homestead located just outside Bakersville, North Carolina, near historic Dellinger’s Mill.
We are open for tours every weekend from mid-May to mid-October by reservation. Our tours cover must-know information for those who are - or who long to be - self-sufficient, whether it’s by eating well from your own organic back yard garden or thriving on your own plot of land.
We use only organic, no till methods and practice both permaculture and polyculture techniques. We also offer fresh produce and microgreens for sale as well as organic saved seed, plant starts and homesteading related gifts in our farm shop.
Tour bookings include a map featuring nearby historic and interesting sites to round out the day’s activities. Bookings may be made online at https://thelittlehalfacre.com.
Pre-orders for fresh produce, free range eggs and fresh herbs may be placed via our webpage. Pre-orders must be placed no later than Tuesday for a Saturday pick up at either our farm store or at the Yancey County Farmer's Market in Burnsville.
You will be given a contact number when your order is placed and confirmed. Simply call when you arrive and we will deliver your order to your vehicle.
