Riverplains Farm lies in a lovely crook of the Holston River, between Strawberry Plains and New Market in Jefferson County, Tennessee. It has been in the Niceley family since the 1940’s. After decades of commercial dairy operations, conventional vegetable growing and equestrian services, Riverplains is forging a new identity based on sustainability and preservation. We raise grass-fed Belted Galloway and Black Angus beef cattle and pasture-finished hogs. We are 100% dedicated to preserving genetic diversity -- from the heirloom seeds we put in the ground to the heritage animal breeds we raise as livestock. We do every thing we can to protect our crops from GMO contamination. In addition to meat, we grow heirloom, non-GMO corn.
