Jewel of the Blue Ridge Vineyard is a small, steep-slope teaching vineyard planted with native, cold-hardy Katuah Muscadine⢠Grapes and Katuah Scuppernog Grapes. The views from our 2100' mountain-top vineyard are among the best in the county. On your farm tour, you will get to see our walapini greenhouse where the cold-hardy Katuah Muscadine vines are propagated. We will take you for a ride in our buggy so you can see our 100-year-old barn and our chickens (kids can collect eggs if you are early enough in the day). Depending upon the time of the season, you may get to see a rope-making demonstration. During season you can also taste our grapes and real Katuah Muscadine/Scuppernong juice. Plants available for sale from our greenhouse include: Katuah Muscadine and Scuppernong grape vine starts. Farm tour reservations must be arranged in advance. Please visit our website to arrange your tour.
Real old-fashioned farm experiences. We raise chickens, donkeys, and Scottish Highland cows. We heat and cook on a wood-fired kitchen stove and have a wood-fired pizza oven. We have walapini greenhouse and a vineyard where visitors can learn about the only cold-hardy muscadine and cold-hardy scuppernogs grown in the USA. Farm tour reservations must be arranged in advance. Please visit our website to arrange your tour.
