About Old Season Farm
Old Season Farm is working to develop an integrated silvopastoral orchard system around mixed perennials and free-ranging livestock. Our planting effort is focused on experimental crops that may be both commercially viable and ecologically sustainable within the Appalachian bioregion. We’re planting many varieties of European hazelnut, which we hope may someday supply a high-value product that can be grown with few inputs on rugged mountain land, as well as a variety of other nuts, fruits, and herbs.
