Ellijay Mushrooms is a specialty mushroom farm located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Ellijay, Georgia. Our farm produces premium Shiitake, Lion’s Mane, King Oyster, and Blue Oyster mushrooms, all grown using pristine Appalachian mountain water. This natural resource contributes to their rich, buttery, and meaty texture—qualities that consistently set our mushrooms apart. We hand-harvest each mushroom at peak freshness and offer them in a variety of pack sizes, including 3-pound and 5-pound wholesale boxes, as well as 16-oz and 3.5-oz retail-ready recyclable cardboard tills. Ellijay Mushrooms holds multiple certifications that reflect our commitment to quality, safety, and responsible farming practices: USDA Organic through CCOF, Georgia Grown, Primus 3.2 (GAP) food-safety certified, Certified Naturally Grown (CNG), and Appalachian Grown certified. Our mushrooms are cultivated on 171 acres of protected Georgia mountain land, which we share with a community of Buddhist monks. This environment shapes our values of stewardship, sustainability, community, diversity, and inclusivity. We believe deeply in the idea that “you are the happiness you eat,” and we strive to grow food that nourishes both body and spirit. We also welcome visitors to experience the farm firsthand. Come visit our farm store to shop local goods, learn about our growing process, and tour the greenhouses where our mushrooms are cultivated. We love sharing our practices with the community and connecting people to Appalachian-grown food. With a focus on regenerative practices, mountain-grown purity, and artisan cultivation, Ellijay Mushrooms proudly brings Appalachian Grown specialty mushrooms to chefs, retailers, and families throughout the region.
