About Winding Stair Farm
Customers can purchase farm products (including poultry, eggs, meat, yarn and more) at our Nursery Retail Center in Franklin. In 2020 we opened our new retail building at the Nursery, and garden center in Franklin, which is home to houseplants, tools, and gifts, in addition to our diverse range of quality plants and farm products. The nursery is dedicated to increasing our range of native plants; an important part of our mission to support local ecosystems. We also provide frequent classes, educational seminars and events. Our second, The Mountain Farm (a private residence) is where we everything began, and is now mostly devoted to pasture for sheep. This location is also home to our grist mill and to our campground with various lodging options (camping and glamping).

Our Farm Offers:
We have 2 scheduled farm tours a year where visitors can access our private mountain farm location (12 miles west of the retail location), meet the sheep and have a tour of our new grist mill. We also have a free open day at the campground, which is also located at the farm. LODGING
Winding Stair Campground
In 2022, we converted a large portion of our private mountain farm into a beautiful campground. As a camper, you can take a self-guided tour of the farm and meet the sheep! But it’s more than that: We have regular campsites with firepits and picnic tables and then we have glamping sites that range from having power and water facilities at the site all the way up to a full blown apartment rental with a lot of unique options in between.
