About Coston Farm Apple House & Pick Your Own Orchard
We are a fourth generation apple orchard. We grow 20+ varieties of apples. Apples, cider, jams and jellies, fried apple pies, whole pies and other baked goods, as well as gifts, pottery, and collectibles are all for sale at the Apple House. The Apple House receives over 20 varieties of apples during the season. We grade and box the apples for sale. After the apples are washed, sorted and sized they are put into bushel boxes to be sold. Some of the apples will be sold in the Apple House in 1/4 peck, 1/2 peck, peck or 1/2 bushel bags, bushel boxes or as individual apples to consumers. We say "Apples are sold by the bag, box or truckload at the Coston's Apple House".
We also have a Pick Your Own Apple Orchard located just behind the Apple House on Chimney Rock Road (U.S. 64 East). You can Purchase a box and a red wagon and walk up to the orchard to pick apples like Golden Delicious, Fuji, Gala, Jonagold, Rome Beauty, Mutsu, Stayman, Cameo, Granny Smith, Arkansas Black just to name a few. Pick as many as you like. After all the work of picking apples, shopping, finding the tastiest apple to buy or purchasing lots of goodies in the cool air conditioned gift shop and bakery you may need to rest and enjoy your day. Fresh apple cider, apple butter, jams/jellies, local honey, candies, bread, and other baked goods will tempt your taste buds. Fried apple pies, apple fritters, apple pies, fresh breads, donuts, cookies are ready in the bakery! Local crafts and pottery, puzzles, gifts for kids, candles, lotions, and decorative items await in the Gift Shop. You can "rest awhile" in our rocking chairs or benches on the front porch, have a picnic at the picnic shed with your family or group or just hang out with the kids at the playground. The playground area is designed for preschoolers and elementary aged children but parents and grandparents will enjoy watching them play or joining in on a game or activity. During the Fall we will have a great display of Pumpkins and fall vegetables for sale. There are many picture spots around the yards and several antique tractors to admire. We hope you will enjoy your visit.

U-PICK
The Pick Your Own Apple orchard is located within walking distance of the Apple House. We open mid-August and close when the apples have been picked or the weather gets too cold, usually by the third week of October. Maps are provided of the orchard with each variety of apple labeled by row. The apples will ripen at different times during the season so some varieties may look like they are ripe and ready for picking but its best to consult the Ripening Calendar to see which apples are ready to pick. Wagons are provided for transport of apples. No ladders are needed or permitted to be used. Because of food safety regulations and Good Agricultural Practices we do not allow animals, i.e. DOGS in the Pick Your Own Orchard. Consumers may purchase bags/boxes for apple picking before entering the Pick Your Own Orchard. Additional containers will be available for purchase if needed. We disinfect wagons and tools used for picking apples when returned to Apple House.

ROADSIDE INFORMATION
We are a four generation farm-direct market offering apples grown from our orchards for sale. During the fall we have fresh apple cider made from our apples, local sweet potatoes, and pecans. Our apples are used to make many kinds of apple butter, jellies, jams, chutney, sauces, syrups, etc. Our baked goods like fried apple pies, apple pies, apple fritters and donuts are top sellers. Fresh baked bread and cookies are also available! The opening of the our retail market "Coston Apple House & Pick Your Own Orchard" starts with the annual apple harvest. We close at 5:00 p.m. after the Daylight Savings Time change. Sunday openings and hours are optional during September and October.
