About WNC From the Ground Up /WNC Farm to Table
WNC From the Ground Up is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to strengthening Western North Carolina’s food systems by supporting farmers, increasing local food access, and preserving farmland. Our mission is “Keeping Farmers Farming. Local Food For All.” Through retail, wholesale, and food insecurity programs, we connect local producers with communities in need. WNC Farm to Table, our local food hub, sources fresh, seasonal products from small and mid-sized farms, ensuring that Appalachian-grown food is accessible to individuals, institutions, and food assistance programs. We proudly feature Appalachian Grown™ products, including sustainably raised produce, pasture-raised meats, dairy, eggs, and locally crafted value-added goods. These products are sourced from farms certified by the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) to ensure they are grown or raised within the region, directly supporting our local farmers and economy. By expanding markets for farmers and increasing access to fresh, healthy food, we are building a more resilient and equitable food system in Western North Carolina.
