Highgate Farm is a four season market garden located in the scenic mountains of Madison County NC, just outside of Marshall. Our business model is inspired by the traditional French Market Garden, with great attention to detail, supplying a broad selection of high quality and specialty vegetables, herbs, and fruits to area tailgate markets, CSA members, and chefs. We aim to share our products and our great love of food, to inspire the preparation of healthy, delicious meals. Our practices are regenerative and inspired by National Organic standards. We employ a small tractor, hand tools, drip irrigation, a propagation house where we start almost all our own plants, caterpillar tunnels, spun row covers, locally sourced inputs and integrated pest management (IPM). Our main source of fertilizer and organic matter arrive in the form of goat manure from a local dairy. We employ local farm workers, and strive to provide them a living wage. Find our beautiful produce year-round at tailgate markets in Asheville, West Asheville and North Asheville, with CSA pick-up at those locations and on the farm in Marshall.

A full share includes an average value of $35, or enough for a couple or small family to enjoy fresh, local produce all week. Your CSA membership also includes a weekly newsletter explaining all of the items in your box, how to store them, and how to prepare them. Additionally, recipes will be shared as well as an update on the farm that week! This 2025 season, we’re keeping the program small and intentional, ensuring the best quality and experience for our members. For more information, or to register, email us at [email protected]
