The Black Mountain Tailgate Market is a Saturday morning shopping event featuring organic and sustainably grown produce and proteins, native plants, freshly cut flowers and herbs, artisan-made bread, pastries, cheese, and so much more!

Our Main Season market is nestled just two blocks North of the beautiful heart of Black Mountain, in a partly shaded, grassy field. We are proud to offer live music, children's activities, and to an array of local artists, craftspeople, and youth entrepreneurs. We are delighted to offer SNAP and SNAP incentives and participate in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program! Every Saturday is a family event with an intimate, community feel. We're in the business of spreading sunshine - every Saturday from March through December.

Black Mountain Tailgate Market participates in ASAP's Farm Fresh Produce Prescription and the WNC Double SNAP Network.

TAILGATE MARKET HOURS

Main Season Market (May 2 - November 21) is located behind First Baptist Church in Black Mountain, 130 Montreat Rd. Black Mountain. Just two blocks north of Town Center! Spring Market Series (March 7 - April 25, 10 am - 2 pm) and Holiday Markets (Nov. 28, Dec. 4-5, 12-19, times TBA) are hosted by Old Town District and Foothills Grange in the Heart of Black Mountain.

Our market season is from March 7, 2026 to November 21, 2026.

WHAT'S FRESH!

While we let our farmers and artisans rest and recharge for the winter, we are cooking up an array of events and activities to keep our little market fresh! In March, we'll be coming in hot with a lineup of talented Local Musicians to serenade market-goers, improved infrastructure and unique market features, volunteer programs, and exciting new collaborations with local non-profit organizations.
